“ASC started as a coating manufacturer originally – acrylics and mastics,” Gabe shared. “We were originally called American Standard Coatings.” As contractor needs changed and demand for more integrated solutions increased, the company made a strategic decision to expand beyond its original niche. 

Over the last several years, ASC has steadily grown its product offering to better align with how contractors actually build roofing and waterproofing systems in the field. “About three years ago, we started making APP and some smooth membrane. And last year, we launched our line of self-adhered as well,” Gabe said. 

This expansion means fewer gaps between products, better system compatibility and the ability to source multiple components from a manufacturer who understands how those products are used together. Gabe continued, “At the end of the year, we also launched a brand-new line of sealant – caulking for concrete, windows, doors. We’re trying to cover the whole building envelope.”

ASC APP Torch
