With a full line up of great speakers and education, you won’t want to miss this year’s BFBA Post-Frame Expo in Ohio this January! 

Don’t miss your chance to attend the 39th Annual Buckeye Frame Building Association (BFBA) Post-Frame Expo on January 11, 2024, in Millersburg, Ohio! The schedule is jam-packed with educational sessions, nail and screw driving contests and time to walk the exhibit floor. It’s a great opportunity to meet with other members in your community, celebrate the industry and gain insights into any updates for the new year.  

Make sure you set your alarm clock and take advantage of the full day of events! Grab some coffee and a full breakfast starting at 8 a.m. while you register and exhibitors finalize their set up. At 9 a.m., Mark Stover of Perma Column starts the first educational session called “New Product Solutions and Value-based Options.” Following his presentation, take some time to stretch your legs, walk the exhibit floor and don’t forget to sign up for the nail driving and screw driving contest. 

Hurry back by 10:15 a.m. for the keynote speaker and bestselling author, Sean Litvak, as he takes the stage for his presentation “Unleashing Leadership Potential: A Journey of Self-talk, Listening and Joy.”  

The screw driving contest sponsored by Metal Exteriors begins at 11:15 a.m. followed by lunch, the BFBA annual meeting, Buckeye Building Awards and a National Frame Building Association (NFBA) update at 12:00 p.m. Then it’s straight into session three in the afternoon as Morgan Arwood of BFBA and NFBA discusses “A New Tool for Training and Retention: Basic Principles for Post-frame Construction Curriculum Program.” Last, but certainly not least is the fourth educational session starting at 2:00 p.m. Brad Shreve of AkzoNobel talks about “What’s in a Coating and its Warranty for your Pre-painted Metal.” 

At 3:00 p.m. you’ll have your last opportunity to break for the exhibits and participate in the nail driving contest sponsored by Hixwood. To close the expo, cash and prizes will be awarded at 4:00 p.m.

Do you have an exemplary project from this year that you’d like to highlight? Join the BFBA in praising the latest and greatest in the post frame industry! 

Don’t miss your chance to submit an entry for the 2023 Buckeye Building Awards! Each year, this program recognizes Ohio projects exemplifying the post frame industry. If your project was completed during the last calendar year (2023) and utilizes post-frame construction in at least 50% of the building structure, your project is eligible for consideration.  

Eligibility will be determined by linear footage of the exterior walls containing post frame construction. The Buckeye Frame Building Association (BFBA) defines post frame construction by its wide column spacing: “Columns are typically buried in the ground but can also be mounted on concrete. On the side walls and ends, all columns are either solid (4x4 minimum) or three ply laminated with horizontal girts spanning between them to support the exterior siding or sheathing. Trusses are connected directly to each column or are mounted on headers spanning between columns.” 

As a current member of the BFBA, you can submit an entry completely free of charge thanks to the generous support of Plyco Corporation, who is sponsoring the program. The deadline for submissions is December 1, 2023, so don’t wait! Winners receive one award for themselves and one to give to their project owner. All winning projects will be recognized at the 2024 BFBA Expo taking place January 11, 2024, at the Heritage Community Center in Millersburg, Ohio. It’s a great way to show off your company’s workmanship and network with other industry leaders in the community.

• Worker’s compensation group plan: BFBA offers this program in partnership with Hunter Consulting. Companies that are members of the BFBA are able to save a significant amount on their workers’ compensation premium that is paid to the state.  

• Full-time staff: the BFBA has a dedicated staff that is always ready and eager to assist any association member with any questions or concerns they may have  

• Annual post frame exposition: the BFBA hosts an Annual Post Frame Expo. This event features key speakers and seminars that focus on providing valuable knowledge and advice for those in the post frame industry. 

• Buckeye building awards: BFBA recognizes outstanding projects each year that have taken place in the state. These awards recognize local builders and business owners for their outstanding skills and craftmanship.
