style=' '  loading='lazy' />

Matt was a partner and key commercial and national accounts manager at Mid-Atlantic Roofing Supply and Metal Roofing Systems.

Matthew Joseph Seaver passed away on June 22, 2025. Matt graduated from Knoxville Catholic High School in 2010. He went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. At the time of his passing, he was a partner and key commercial and national accounts manager at both Mid-Atlantic Roofing Supply and Metal Roofing Systems.

Matt's personality could be described as competitive, goofy and loyal. From childhood, he loved anything in the form of competition; Nascar, Oklahoma football and baseball were his favorites. He wanted to win at any game and would change the rules of board games to win if he had to. His birthdays were spent eating yellow cake with chocolate icing. He often could be found listening to John Mayer and attempting to learn the song for himself on the guitar. Matt's other interests included trains, volcanoes, weather and above all, his yard. If you knew Matt, you knew about two things: his children and his yard. He was equally passionate and proud of both.

Matt married his best friend Regan on November 18, 2017, and his life changed again when he became a dad to Nora Reed Seaver in October of 2021. She changed his heart and his whole world. If you knew Matt, you knew two different men: Matt before and after becoming a dad. Fatherhood changed the way he viewed the world and changed the way he cared for those around him. It also changed his sense of humor, and Matt was constantly working on his dad jokes and subjecting friends to them. After becoming a father, all he wanted was time; time with his family, time to build his business and time to dream. His son Harrison was born in February of 2025, and once again, life changed for the better. Life as a family of 4 was chaotic, overwhelming, fun, beautiful and lovely. He was a wonderful husband, a devoted son, a kind brother, a hard worker and an incredible "Dada". He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Matt is preceded in death by his grandfather, George Fulton Seaver and his father, George "Joey" Fulton Seaver Junior.

Matt is survived by his wife, Regan Seaver; daughter, Nora Seaver; son, Harrison Seaver; mother, Diana Seaver; sister, Hannah Logan; brother-in-law, James Logan; nephew, Toa Logan; and brother, Ryan Seaver.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on July 3, 2025 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A service will follow at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Dumplin Valley, The St. Mary's Legacy Clinic or The Mount Juliet Help Center. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rosefuneraltn.com.

Apply for the TARC scholarship program before May 15 to help prepare for your future as a contractor!

Since 1965, the Tennessee Association of Roofing Contractors (TARC) has strived to foster a high standard for contractors and manufacturers across the state by facilitating continuing education and special training opportunities. Another way the association works to support those in the industry today and in the future is through their scholarship program.

This program is designed to help students related to TARC members in their pursuit of higher education. This includes both academic programs at colleges and vocational training programs. Each scholarship is for $1,000 and there are three awarded each year: the Contractor’s Dependent Scholarship, the Contractor’s Dependent Scholarship and the Thomas Herbert Scholarship. For those interested in this year’s scholarship program, the application process opened on January 1, 2024 and the deadline to submit is May 15, 2024.

One of the past recipients of the Contractor’s Dependent Scholarship, W. Cole Pond with Water Control Roofing, wrote to TARC about how much the scholarship means to them. Check out what they had to say:

“I was fortunate enough to receive the Contractor's Dependent Scholarship that TARC offers for my freshman year in 2019, as well as my junior year in 2021. I am writing this letter to show my utmost gratitude to TARC. I am a 3rd generation "roofer" which I use that term lightly given that I only spent a few months in the field and my mother was never in the field, nonetheless, my family has been in the industry for quite a while now.

I attended Volunteer State Community College and then transferred to Western Kentucky University where I majored in Construction Management. I knew that I would likely stay in the industry and come to work at Water Control Rooting Company, (which my grandfather started and where my mother and I work).

Everyone knows that college isn't cheap, so any and all financial help I got was more than appreciated. Receiving such financial help from an association that is continuously improving the industry, that I will likely spend the rest of my working life in, felt like a warm welcome into the world of roofing. I look forward to being a member of TARC for years to come.”

For any questions about the scholarship program, you can call 615-515-5299, email info@tarcroof.org or send a letter to TARC Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 2945, Lagrange, GA 30241.

At last year's inaugural event, more than 400 professionals from all segments of the roofing industry came together to deliver our industry message with "one voice" to Congress. And this year, we hope to double that number.

On April 3-4, the roofing industry will come together once again in Washington, D.C., to meet with members of Congress to deliver our message about the most important legislative issues affecting the roofing industry, including reducing regulatory burdens and addressing workforce shortages. The Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill is the host hotel.

Roofing contractors are encouraged to bring one or more standout crew members to help share the industry's story. Congress needs to hear from all segments of the industry! Registration for Roofing Day in D.C. 2019 is only $75 for company representatives, and NRCA is offering a special registration rate of only $25 for roof system installers.
