In the beginning of December 2024, the Metal Building Manufacturer’s Association (MBMA) hosted their annual meeting in Savannah, Georgia. The meeting was an incredible space to learn, grow and plan for the future of the metal building industry, as well as look back at another successful year! As a part of the meeting, the MBMA hosted their annual ceremony, which celebrates their associate members’ dedication to safety in, volunteering for, recruiting into and promoting the metal industry.
The first award category given out was the Industry Advocate Award, which rewards association members who have given extraordinary efforts to enhance MBMA initiatives with recognition from MBMA, a specialized logo for display, attendance to an exclusive reception with the MBMA board and unique sponsorship opportunities.
Bronze winners: Donovan Group, Therm-All (An SPI company), Metal Building Software, Wurth Construction Services, AkzoNobel, Sherwin-Williams Coil Coatings, Metallic Products and PSI (Preferred Solutions Inc).
Silver winners: CURBS+, Expi-Door System Inc (a member of the Bay family of companies) and Konecranes Lifting Business.
Gold winners: Bay Insulation Systems (a member of the Bay family of companies), Silvercote (a Service Partners Company) and S-5!
MBMA then announced the winners of their volunteerism award, which recognizes association members that have dedicated exceptional time and effort to the MBMA and the larger metal building systems industry. These are measured through attendance of things such as committee meetings, task group meetings, steering group meetings and board meetings.
Bronze winners: Pinnacle Structures Inc. and Ascent Buildings.
Silver winners: Cornerstone Building Brands, Associated Steel Group, Tyler Building Systems L.P. and Vulcan Steel Structures.
Gold winners: BlueScope, Behlen Building Systems, Nucor Buildings Group, SBS (Schlute Building Systems) and Chief Buildings.
To close out the ceremony, MBMA announced the winner of their Innovative Product Award. This award is administered by MBMA’s AMAC (Associate Member Advisory Council), and the winner is selected by the board of directors. Not only does this award come with prestigious recognition, but the winning project also receives $10,000 of funding.
This year, Amanda Paterline, a marketing manager at AkzoNobel took home the award for her project, “Sustainability of Metal Buildings, Beyond the Life of the Building.”
