Here at The Coffee Shops™, we get the unique and incredible opportunity to travel around the country talking to contractors and manufacturers about the newest roofing products and innovations. While in Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2025 International Builder Show, we got the chance to talk to Chad Riley, the director of marketing at Westlake Royal Building Products. He showed us the two newest additions to their stone veneer offerings in their El Dorado brand line.
El Dorado Stone was originally created in 1969 and, since then, it “has become the leading manufacturer of architectural stone veneer with an unwavering reputation for high-quality products." The designs and products that come out of El Dorado are known to push the boundaries of architectural stone and brick veneer by bringing the creativity and power of nature into each of their profiles.
When we spoke to Chad, he showed us one of their newer profiles, the Ranchers Ridge colorway. This colorway originally started as a custom blend that was offered in the Southern California market. Chad described it, saying, “It's a great mix of creams, grays and sand with little accents of rust. We are offering it in two different textural formats. One is the field ledge, which is going to be slightly smoother but still with a lot of texture and character to it. The other is our rough cut (one of our most popular options) and it just has a little bit more texture.” This stunning color profile lends itself to a variety of applications, both interior and exterior, and having the different textures creates a wide variety of design opportunities. Chris showed us one example, and explained, “In this example, we’ve applied a blend of the two textures that Ranchers Ridge is available in. So that’s the field ledge profile and then the rough cut. We did 50/50 blend of both here, to create a great dimension and style here.”
The other product he showed us was the Nordic Peak colorway. This is a very bright colorway with light gray accents. Chris elaborated, “This also has been a custom color for a handful of years and we're excited to bring it national. It has a kind of American frontier grit and excitement about it.” And while there are a lot of other white stone offerings on the market, what makes Nordic Peak stand out is the texture it brings to a design. Chris explained, “In this example, Nordic Peak is installed as a kitchen backsplash. This is a great example of how the texture and the character of the stone is kind of an element of its own in addition to the color.”
