Design Span® hp from ASC Building Products offers a structural standing seam metal roof panel designed for residential and commercial roofing applications. 

ASC Building Products’ Design Span® hp brings high-performance structural standing seam metal roofing to residential and commercial projects where durability, clean design and tested performance are priorities. The panel attaches to the roof deck with a clip system that allows for greater thermal movement and installation on roofs with slopes down to 2:12. According to ASC Building Products, the clip interlock system and factory-applied sealant strengthen the metal roof system’s performance, supporting greater resistance to extreme wind and water infiltration. 

Engineered for demanding conditions, the Design Span® hp metal roofing system is tested for air infiltration per ASTM E1680, water infiltration per ASTM E1646 and wind uplift per ASTM E1592. The panel is also UL Class A Fire Rated when installed in accordance with UL requirements, adding another performance consideration for roofing professionals and building owners. 

Design Span® hp features a 1 ¾-inch seam with a snap interlock, eliminating the need for field seaming. Factory notching is also available for turn-under at the eave, providing a clean design while helping reduce labor during installation. 

Available in 24- and 22-gauge options, the system offers net coverage widths of 12 inches, 16 inches, 17 inches and 18 inches, giving contractors and specifiers flexibility for different design requirements. The panel is available with the Dura Tech® 5000 or Dura Tech® mx paint system, both of which feature commercial-grade fluorocarbon (PVDF) paint-system technology designed to offer improved resistance to extreme environments. 

ASC Building Products also notes that compatible S-5! Snow Retention Systems are now available for Design Span® hp. Color inventory may vary by manufacturing facility and gauge, and customers are encouraged to check availability with customer service.
