Congratulations on 3 Years of Revenue Growth BTA!

Breakthrough Academy is one of Canada's top growing companies in 2021.  

Trendsetter. Daring. Growing. These three words describe Canada’s top growing companies by three-year revenue growth for 2021. Of those 448 companies, Breakthrough Academy (BTA) ranked 213! BTA joined breweries, insurance brokers, apparel designers and robot creators on the list of the most daring businesses in the country. These companies, regardless of their location, how long they’ve been operating and what they make or do all managed to grow during these unprecedented times.   

The third annual Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies was launched in 2019 by The Globe and Mail — BTA has made the list every year that the report has been published, though making the list becomes increasingly difficult each year. This program ranks participating private and public businesses in Canada on their three-year revenue growth. Companies were required to complete an application and provide supporting financial documents for 2017 and 2020. According to The Globe and Mail, “We evaluated companies based on the most recent fiscal year for which financial statements were available, with the latest year-end date of April 30, 2021.”  All revenue figures are in Canadian dollars, unless indicated otherwise. 

The 2021 list included companies that experienced three-year revenue growth of 50% or more, which resulted in the ranking including 448 companies instead of 400 like in previous years.   

To qualify, companies needed to meet the following criteria:  

• Have at least $2 million in annual sales in the most recent fiscal year 

• Canadian-run 

• For-profit 

• Headquartered in Canada 

• Independent 

With just 35 employees, Breakthrough Academy’s 2020 revenue was $5-$10 million. And they managed a three-year revenue growth of 193% even amidst a global pandemic. BTA is a business education platform for trades and home service entrepreneurs. Their focus is to provide contractors with the necessary tools to increase profits, improve work-life balance and live the lives they’ve dreamed of. The team at BTA is currently working with over 400 companies in Canada and the United States and have tailored their systems and processes to be completely trade focused. Their concepts have built successful franchise systems from scratch, and scaled small companies to multi-million-dollar organizations.
