Digital tools for every contractor

With over 50 years of experience in the field, WSRCA is not slowing down. They continue to adapt their resources for the digital age.  

In Season 5, Episode 56 of Roofing Road Trips®, host Heidi J. Ellsworth met up with Joel Viera and Alec Ward from the Western States Roofing Contractors Associations (WSRCA). Alec is the director of membership and trade show at WSRCA and Joel is their executive director. Joel explained that they were founded in 1974 “with the contractor in mind, always trying to do things to make the contractor's job easier and more beneficial for them.” Backing up this goal is the fact that the 26 WSRCA board members are all active roofing contractors.  

In preparation for their 2023 Western Roofing Expo (WRE) this last summer, WSRCA took to the digital world to continue this core mission through multiple initiatives. One of these initiatives was headed by their safety committee. The final product was the release of the Safety Companion App, which is free to all WSRCA members. Joel explained that it is designed to make safety recording and logging easier, saying that they are simply “trying to make things better for roofing contractors in the industry.”  

Another initiative was their WRE app for the expo itself.  Alec explained, “It's got a whole list of all our exhibitors once you select the ones you’re interested in, it populates the trade show floor map, so you can navigate your whole way through there.” This app is designed to make the expo more accessible and navigable for attendees. This adaptation to the digital age is just one of the ways that WSRCA is working to best serve their community and the industry.
