Family of Recently Deceased Veteran Receives a Brand-new Roof

Thanks to Tadlock Roofing, a grieving family was given a reason to celebrate. 

Victor Hunt, a military veteran, father and husband tragically passed away. His family, already dealing with the loss of their loved one, were living in a house with a leaky, unsafe roof. The wood was rotting and leaking, causing it to “rain inside the house.” The leaks were so severe that the son of the family, Lucas (who has special needs), was facing the possibility of having to move into a group home if the roof did not get immediate repairs.  

Jason Bellflower, a sales representative for Tadlock roofing, was so moved by the family's story that he decided to gift the Hunt family with a roof, pro-bono. The company has a pretty amazing mission: For every customer that buys a roof, another roof will be installed for free. Tadlock Roofing and their partner ABC Supply Co. are encouraging others in the industry to perform these philanthropic deeds as well.  

The family was very moved by the company’s generosity. Marilyn Hunt told News4Jax, “This is a new change... this means that Lucas gets to come home, he gets to sleep in his new bed, it’s not going to rain in [his] room and for that, I couldn’t thank the sales representative any more. He’s our angel.” She continued, “It’s not going to rain in the house anymore.” Victor’s daughter, Mollie Hunt stated, “I started crying, and I told my husband, ’Guess what? That’s one less stress I have to worry about.’ I just inherited the home and I have no clue how to start from one side of the house to the other. I was so thankful.”
