Answer Me This! sponsored by Gibraltar Building Accessories is a giveaway designed to help the company build products based on contractor feedback as part of their ‘Construction Solutions’ campaign. Participating is easy! All you have to do is answer a simple question, and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a prize. If selected as the winner, you’ll get your choice of prize from an RCS box of love, donuts or a pizza!
Our newest winner is Fred Grennon, owner of Grennon Construction in Pontiac, Michigan. We spoke with him about working in the industry and his answer to our Answer Me This! question: "What is your preferred exhaust system to install?”
Like most roofers, Fred got into roofing by being invited to join a crew on the roof one day and fell in love with the industry. “My brother was a roofer and invited me to come out one day,” says Fred. “I started as a laborer, and then worked up to a shingler, became a subcontractor, and then started doing my own work.”
Fred answered “ridge vent” to the question “What is your preferred exhaust system to install?” He explains, “Because it's easily installed, it's very effective, and we tend to use that on most of our roofs that we install,” says Fred.
Fred has been a long-time reader of RoofersCoffeeShop®, going all the way back to our website’s in-print predecessor “Roofers Exchange,” which he would regularly peruse.
“I like the articles that I see, it's very informative. And of course, the posts on Facebook are interesting; some are funny, and some are very informative,” says Fred. “It's just a lot of information. We've done some advertising through you guys for help wanted, which has worked in the past, and I like to read through it every now and again.”
By participating in the Answer Me This! survey, you are elevating the industry by helping the Construction Solutions campaign hosted by Gibraltar Building Accessories to provide the best products, programs and experiences to contractors.
