Johns Manville is known for providing the industry with products that can be depended on. With the most comprehensive guarantees, you can expect high-quality and top performance products when you choose Johns Manville, and the ENRGY® Anchor that they carry is no exception!
This product is a lightweight solution for mounting photovoltaic (PV) to existing membrane roofs. Featuring a Galvalume®-coated steel plate (Galvalume is a registered trademark of BIEC International, Inc. and some of its licensed producers) welded to a stainless-steel stud, it is a strong and secure option.
When it comes to applying these anchors to new or existing EPDM, PVC, TPO, APP, BUR and SBS roof systems, the ENRGY Anchor is a great solution that utilizes a cover membrane that is heat-welded or adhered to the existing roof, the ENRGY Anchor creates an integrated, waterproof system that will keep your building envelope secure. At the end of the day, that means it provides a watertight solution matching the lifecycle of the roof system and can be included under the JM Peak Advantage Guarantee.
The ENRGY Anchor’s attachment system has built-in leveling washers, and its waterproofing system already comes with membrane separators. Further, the ENRGY Anchor’s 3/8" stud can be paired with a wide range of hardware allowing for flexibility in how to attach the racking system. The end result is an easy-to-install system that can be used to either augment the uplift resistance of ballast or, in some cases, entirely replace the need for ballast. When paired with a racking system and PV modules, the ENRGY Anchor offers low distributed loads and a nearly flush to the roof profile that makes it perfect for roofs in high wind or seismic zones.
Please note that the JM Guarantee only covers the waterproofing and load resistance performance for the PV system. It is the responsibility of the PV system designer based on their analysis of components, loads and exposure.
