The IFD World Championship of Young Roofers is a competition hosted by the International Federation of the Roofing Trade (IDF). The goal of this competition is to bring young professionals in training from around the world together. This helps improve the larger trade industry by raising awareness of the importance of the skilled trades, strengthen overall vocational training programs and highlight the advantages of working as a professional roofer. The five finalists were:
This group competed to be part of the IFD UK Team to represent the UK in this international roofing competition. After that competition, which tasked the roofers with building a laced plane tile valley, two representatives were picked. This was determined by an analysis of their skills, teamwork, health & safety and their ability to absorb information. It was an incredibly tough competition and hard to call for the judges, but in the end Joe and Tyler were chosen to represent the UK at this year’s IFD!
