The new Nailer-T wood nailer alternative and extruded fascia products from low-slope roofing manufacturer MuleHide are the protective, labor-saving finishing touches for virtually any low-slope roofing system.
Nailer-T replaces nailers at the roof perimeter, increasing the roof’s structural integrity, reducing the risk of failure, protecting the entire roofing system from damage or blow-off and providing an opportunity to increase the roof’s energy efficiency. It is designed for use in single-ply systems and is an ideal solution when retrofitting metal roofs.
The eight new extruded fascia products securely terminate single-ply, modified bitumen and built-up roofing (BUR) systems, providing maximum protection from wind uplift damage while contributing to the building’s aesthetics.
All the new products are engineered for quick, easy installation to increase crew efficiency and installation quality.
The range of sizes, cover materials, colors, finishes and other options available provides tremendous flexibility in designing the right roof for each building.
Nailer-T makes wood nailers obsolete, protecting vulnerable corners and edges from damage by high winds, rain, hail, tornadoes and hurricanes. Options are available for low-slope roofs with consistent perimeter heights, for low-slope roofs with parapet walls and for retrofitting metal roofs.
Made of heavy-gauge extruded aluminum, Nailer-T can be attached to existing wood nailers, masonry or metal roof decks. It comes in a wide variety of standard sizes to accommodate different substrates and insulation requirements.
In single-ply systems, Nailer-T can replace up to three wood nailers and allow installation of up to 5.7 inches of Poly ISO insulation or 5.2 inches of Poly ISO and a ½-inch cover board.
Nailer-T, used in conjunction with an All Purpose Bar at the gutter, is an ideal solution when retrofitting metal roofs. Options are available for use on non-pitched metal roofs and those with pitches up to 4”/12”. It eliminates the step of cutting wood nailer blocks for each pan section, dramatically reducing the time and effort needed for filling flutes. Crews simply fit Nailer-T against the roof perimeter, fasten it to the purlins or structural supports and place a ½-inch cover board on top to finish.
All Nailer-T options are designed for quick, easy installation while delivering significant performance benefits:
The new extruded fascia products combine versatility, superior performance and good looks, securely terminating TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen and BUR system to provide maximum wind protection while adding to the building’s aesthetics.
Eight products are available, each in a variety of sizes and cover materials, to meet the needs of virtually any low-slope roof. They include:
The patented extruded aluminum anchor bar provides industry-leading resistance to wind. All products are FM Approved for wind uplift protection and are Miami-Dade County approved, complying with the “High Velocity Hurricane Zone of the Florida Building Code.”
From the snap-on covers to the non-penetrating design, the products are engineered for easy, error-free installation. Pre-punched holes on the 12-inch lengths speed up the process and reduce labor costs. Slotted fastening holes allow for proper thermal movement of the materials and ensure correct placement and spacing. There is no stripping-in or heat-welding required, saving crews time and helping ensure the roof’s watertight integrity by preventing improper flashing techniques or failed adhesives or sealants.
A wide variety of express, standard and premium colors and finishes are available to suit the aesthetics of nearly any building. Custom colors are also available for hard-to-match jobs.
When the time comes to replace the roof, the anchor bar can be removed, cleaned and reinstalled on the new roof without compromising its strength and appearance.
