Nestor Duran named new vice president of engineering at Johns Manville

Johns Manville Nestor Duran Named New Vice President of Engineering
September 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

He will be responsible for all aspects of Capital and Furnace Engineering, including the development and execution of capital projects and driving excellence and standardization across the engineering discipline.

Nestor Duran will join Johns Manville as vice president of engineering, effective September 2. He will succeed Mark Charbonneau, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

In this role, Nestor will report to CEO Bob Wamboldt and lead JM’s global engineering organization. He will be responsible for all aspects of Capital and Furnace Engineering, including the development and execution of capital projects and driving excellence and standardization across the engineering discipline. His leadership will be instrumental in delivering projects that align with our business goals and meet customer needs.

Nestor has over 20 years of experience in the manufacturing industry with Owens-Illinois. Over the past eight years, he has held senior and executive engineering roles, managing a portfolio of more than $2 billion in capital projects. Earlier in his career, he held positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing and engineering across South America.

Nestor earned a degree in Computer Science Engineering from UNEFA in Venezuela and is certified in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) and Project Management (PMP).
