Elevate's MAX PVC system provided the chemical resistance, moisture protection and durability needed for Fremont Beef Company's demanding operations.

Fremont Beef Company has been providing high-quality meat products to customers around the world since 1990. In 2025, it was time to reroof their 81,000 square foot storage space and meat processing plant in Fremont, Nebraska.

This reroof posed a few unique challenges to JR & Co, the roofing company who won the bid for the project. These challenges included the fact that 81,000 square feet was spread over three roof areas with many penetrations for refrigeration equipment and exhaust pipes; everything needed to adhere to USDA cleanliness standards; and the facilities needed to remain operational throughout the construction process.

To meet the demanding requirements of this job, JR & Co. chose to utilize Elevate Roofing Products’ MAX PVC commercial roofing system. This system was chosen for a variety of reasons including:

  • Perfect for processing: MAX PVC is known for its resistance to harsh chemicals, grease and other biological materials. This made it an ideal choice for a meat processing plant like Fremont Beef Company!
  • Buildable in stages: Elevate’s systems are built in layers, which allowed JR & Co. to sequence their work in a way that minimized shutdowns of facilities. Overall, clear communication and coordination allowed the facility to keep running safely, efficiently and to USDA standards during the eight-month reroof process.
  • Master of moisture management: Because of the cold storage in the facility, moisture and vapor control were high priorities on the project. Thanks to the installation of the V-Force™ Vapor Barrier Membrane and two layers ISO 95+ GL insulation, the installed Elevate roof system supports consistent and efficient thermal and moisture performance in areas above the cold storage and processing areas.
  • Designed for durability: This membrane is known for reinforcement and life-long flexibility that makes it extremely durable. JR & Co. also installed ISOGARD™ HD cover board for even more strength and long-term performance. Thanks to the incredible strength built into the roof, the MAX PVC membrane will support the large number of penetrations and the industrial rooftop equipment for decades to come.

Overall, this Elevate system proved to be the best solution for Fremont Beef Company’s needs. They now have a long-lasting roof that they can trust to support their demanding, year-round operations. John Koster, general manager at JR & Co. reflected on the project, sharing, “Elevate MAX PVC made that process more straightforward, and the support from Elevate gave us confidence throughout the job. We’re proud of how our team managed the complexity and delivered a roof system that Fremont Beef can rely on.”
