TUBOS Inc. is owned by a very innovative gentleman named Kevin Morris out of Largo, Florida with his partner Rick Maddox. They are represented by Delta Rep Group, a manufacturer’s representative throughout the state of Florida. Recently, Heidi J. Ellsworth caught up with Wayne Heironimus, a managing partner of Delta Rep Group, to discuss some of the products he represents and his unique role in the roofing industry. The prefabricated vent pipe extensions from TUBOS are one such product he not only represents, but firmly stands behind. 

Wayne gives us some background on Kevin and Rick’s company. “They were sheet metal people, and they identified a problem on a roof. And that was, when you add insulation to a roof to bring it to code, there’s pipe stacks, pipe vent extensions that need to be extended further. The code says that soil stacks have to be eight inches above the roof, but if you add four inches of insulation, they’re no longer eight inches above and have to be extended.”  

Before TUBOS came along, the roofer would come up with any solution they could think of, buying materials from Home Depot or a plumbing supply store and essentially fabricating your own pipe extension on the roof. Not only does this mean that every extension was engineered differently, but it cost time and money to find a solution. Kevin and Rick came up with a brilliant solution and now we can count on TUBOS across the industry. Wayne continues, “TUBOS are prefabricated plumbing vent pipe extensions. [Roofing contractors] love them because it standardizes what they’re doing, and they can make the fix and reduce callbacks.”
