A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply was this year’s sponsor of the NRCA's third annual Children's Art Contest, part of National Roofing Week. The contest helps promote awareness of the importance of having a roof to grade school-age children, showing them the value of professional roofing contractors in their communities. National Roofing Week was June 5-11, 2016.  As a sponsor of the Children’s Art Contest, A.C.T. promoted all contractors to have their children submit artwork.  “NRCA held the contest to promote the importance of having a roof and the value of using good roofing companies overall,” stated Carm Termini, marketing director for A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply.

The contest was open to children in grades 1-8 who are relatives of NRCA members and their employees. In preparation for a child's participation, NRCA encouraged roofing professionals to talk to children about what they do as roofing contractors and why their jobs are important. This not only gives children ideas about what to draw, but also educates them about the value of roofing professionals.

The winner from each group had his or her artwork featured on all 2016 National Roofing Week material.  Additional promotional material to be displayed at industry events throughout the year, including the 2017 International Roofing Expo^® and NRCA's 130th Annual Convention in Las Vegas.
