The PaYS program is a partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross-section of companies, and public sector agencies. PaYS guarantees Soldiers a job interview and possible employment after leaving the Army.
“Leaving the army is one of the most challenging things soldiers have to face. Programs like PaYS give hope to those that are leaving the military that they will find civilian employment,” said Luis Moyano, Veteran Program Manager at SRS.
SRS committed to hiring 500 veterans by 2023, has currently reached 469.
Dan Tinker, President & CEO explained that SRS is increasing that commitment, “We are adding an additional 500 new veteran employees to our original goal with an aim to have 1000 veterans working at our company within the next 5 years. SRS is honored to sign this pledge today to solidify our partnership with the US Army PaYS program, and we look forward to continuing to give back to those in our armed forces.”
The ceremony commenced with a full military color guard, and the singing of the National Anthem by SRS Distribution’s Kaitlin Wile. Following remarks from Lieutenant Colonel John Harrell and Dan Tinker, the two signed the PaYS pledge. The event concluded with ceremonial sword cake cutting and luncheon for those who attended.
