Dan Tinker, president of the SRS Raise the Roof Foundation, has announced that they will extend the matching donation period through September 20, 2017. The foundation will match every donation it receives to try to hit its new goal of $250,000 that, when matched, will be a total of $500,000 raised for hurricane relief.
According to an email letter sent by the foundation, to date, 323 individuals and organizations have contributed $174,077 to support victims of Hurricane Harvey. With the SRS match, there is a total of $348,154 in the relief fund. Tinker says the response “has been unfathomable and left us truly humbled.”
The foundation is extending the date because it has decided to expand the scope of the fund in order to help those in Florida who have been affected by Hurricane Irma.
Donations can be made online through PayPal.
