The Coffee Shops™ welcome the Contractors Association of Minnesota!

How CAM supports, educates and advocates for Minnesota contractors. 

The Coffee Shops™, the award-winning online communities where the industries meet for technologies, safety, information and education for the construction trades of roofing, metal, coatings and outdoor living are pleased to welcome the Contractors Association of Minnesota (CAM) into their community. 

In 2009, the members of the state government proposed legislation that would harm contractors working on storm-related events across Minnesota. To create a unified voice for the contractors in the state who disagreed with this proposal, CAM was formed. Since then, CAM has continued to grow and serve an evolving group of “professional contractors, distributors and manufacturers who want to encourage positive change for the future of our industry.” 

How do they do this? In addition to their original work as a political advocate, CAM partners with like-minded associations and organizations to provide their members with community, training and support. Members get unique opportunities to share technical data and marketing tips with their peers as well as attend continuing education courses designed to boost their business. CAM also helps coordinate their members in community outreach and charitable work that elevates local communities and promotes the good that the industry does.  

Overall, if you are a professional operating in the state of Minnesota, joining CAM is a key step to bettering your business and your professional self! As attorney Tim Johnson explained, “CAM is an invaluable resource to general contractors.  It provides them a voice before the legislature, a place to dialogue about business and industry trends and it serves as a liaison between contractors and regulatory agencies like the Minnesota Departments of Labor and Commerce.
