The future of single-ply heat welding

The International Roofing Expo (IRE) is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited here at The Coffee Shops. We have a slew of exciting things lined up for that week, but one can’t miss event is our Read Listen Watch® (RLW) live from the trade show floor! On the last day of IRE (February 21, 2025) at 10:00 a.m. CT, Heidi J. Ellsworth will be stopping by the Leister booth to learn about the “Latest Heat Welding Tech & Innovations.” She will be joined by Leister’s Dave Nordentoft and Brittany Wykle. 

Dave is Leister’s manager of roofing products and has been with the company for over 10 years now. Prior to working at Leister, he worked in the industry as a sales representative and a branch manager. Brittany will be celebrating her first year with Leister as their associate product specialist for roofing in February! Her background is in the roofing industry, having previously worked as a service director and a marketing manager.  

This expert duo will discuss the new heat welding technology and innovations that are making the single-ply roofing world more efficient. For example, they will talk about Leister’s VARIMAT 700, which was actually launched at last year’s IRE! This product is a great example of how advanced welding systems can utilize technology and digital tools to make welding solutions higher-quality and more precise. In the case of the VARIMAT 700, key features that make it such a powerful tool include its increased weld pressure, electronic power management, monitored welding assistant and the use of the Leister Quality System (LQS).  

The LQS is a cutting-edge tool that tracks and records key welding data to help you monitor the quality of your welds. Dave and Brittany will go further into detail on the LQS during the RLW, and may even share some demos of Leister’s technology, so make sure to tune in (live or on-demand) to see how advancements like these can impact your projects and help you stay competitive in the industry.
