The ins and outs of non-diaphragm post-frame structural design

The National Frame Building Association (NFBA) offers a specialized educational program through their Post-Frame Advantage Online University, designed to help participants learn about the engineering design process for non-diaphragm post-frame structures. Through free monthly online seminars, the NFBA aims to provide valuable resources and knowledge to both newcomers and experienced professionals in the post-frame industry. 

One of the standout sessions, titled “Non-Diaphragm Post-Frame Structural Design Examples: Engineering Details,” was led by University of Missouri Extension professor Joseph M. Zulovich, Ph.D., who shared insights from the NFBA's Non-Diaphragm Post-Frame Design Guide. The course covered the foundational concepts and engineering principles essential to understanding non-diaphragm post-frame structures. Joseph’s presentation focused on lateral force resisting systems (LFRS), a critical component in non-diaphragm post-frame building systems (PFBS). The instructor detailed the key features and identifiers of these systems, offering practical examples from the textbook and discussing their application in real-world scenarios. 

The seminar provided a comprehensive overview, suitable for both beginners and seasoned engineers, offering a solid grounding in the fundamentals while also exploring advanced topics.
