Walton County School District’s first ICF project

Building a school comes with its own set of challenges, but when that school is also located in Florida, those challenges multiply due to the state’s notorious weather conditions. Dune Lakes Elementary School in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, showed how innovation in building materials and design can overcome such hurdles, setting a new standard for resilience, efficiency and sustainability in Walton County School District.

Not only is the Sunshine State prone to hurricanes, but it also has high humidity and intense heat that can impact the construction process and long-term durability of the building.
