IFD Connection Forum 2026

The IFD Connection Forum 2026 is designed as a focused and interactive format that brings together member associations and industry partners

The objective is to:
•    create practical value through real project insights
•    enable exchange between countries and stakeholders
•    strengthen the role of IFD commissions and their contribution to the development of technical guidelines

The format combines input, exchange and working sessions.

Day 1 – Wednesday, October 14, 2026 Focus: IFD updates and knowledge exchange from award-winning projects

Key Topics:

• IFD update
• 3–4 award-winning project presentations (15–20 min each)
  • Focus: challenges, planning, execution, key learnings
• Open discussion:
  • Transferability across countries
  • Shared challenges

Day 2 Focus: Technical guidelines and future direction of IFD commissions

Save the Date: Connection Forum in Vienna - 14-16 October 2026

The International Federation of the Roofing Trade (IFD) will host its October 2026 Congress in Vienna, now reimagined as the Connection Forum, a refreshed format focused on deeper engagement and global collaboration. Building on the success of the 2025 Congress in Bratislava, where industry leaders gathered for expert presentations, panel discussions and international exchange, the new forum emphasizes both meaningful networking and high-value education. Attendees can expect a dynamic environment that blends structured educational sessions with opportunities to connect across borders, share best practices and discuss the future of the roofing trade. Like previous congresses, the event will bring together contractors, manufacturers and associations to address industry challenges, innovation and workforce development, while fostering the strong sense of international partnership that defines IFD events.

The Yound Roofers Competition

The Young Roofer Competition, hosted by the International Federation of the Roofing Trade (IFD), showcases the next generation of skilled roofing professionals from around the world. This prestigious event brings together young craftsmen to compete in disciplines such as flat roofing, pitched roofing and metal roofing, highlighting technical expertise, precision and innovation. Beyond competition, it fosters international camaraderie, knowledge sharing and pride in the trade.
