So, is there a slope on the roof? How much ponding water? What is the condition of the surface of the SBS. If it is flat, just put a base sheet, three-ply and gravel.

Foam is a great roofing system when applied correctly and properly coated. It can be used over many surfaces, just make sure there is no moisture trapped in the roof you are going to foam! Foam will react differently when you hit a wet spot. Make sure you investigate your foamer to make sure they do a good foam job. Not all foamers are good. I use Conklin products and they have a few coatings that can be used on foam, they do supply a foam product too.

I would prefer to use foam as the waterproofing and coating as the sealer.. If your SBS is leaking In many places I would foam. If all you're looking for is UV protection, coat it.

Yes you can coat SBS. But check with mfg'er of the products for compatiblitity.

Extremely limited warranty.
