Saw this picture at some random site I stumbled upon and it reminded me of something I once saw down in Mississippi. I got lucky and the nest was long abandoned. Ever seen anything like this while on the roof?

Willie I'm surprised that hive stunk. I don't think I ever took the time to smell one lol.
I'm the same way Dd. I'm a major wuss when it comes to bee's and spiders. Lots of bad experiences. I've been bitten by just about every poisonous spider in N. America and was stung 42 times by yellow jackets when I was 10 years old. I've spent quite a bit of time in hospitals from insect bites. They like some people more than other I suppose.
I would take all those bites and stings over chiggers any day. They are hell on earth.
Mmmm, that's homegrown right there.
If you want to see a bunch of tough ass grown men turn into babies and possibly jump off the roof if it's 1 story, watch my crew when we tear into house that has a red wasps nest! I thought I was going to have to finish the job by myself a few years ago.
I did a repair in behind the exterminator on a job where bees had infested the spot underneath a half cricket behind a chimney. They way they had built the half cricket they left an opening that led to this. It STUNK like HOLY HELL!
