Article in today's paper about a lady homeowner who wants to replace her worn out brown shingle roof with energy efficient white shingles. HOA says no way, she has to install the dark energy efficient shingles at a cost of $2,000 more. In lieu of doing that she has to get 70% of the residents to sign a petition. Welcome to HOA land!

I don't blame the HOA. There isn't anything uglier than a white shingled roof.
