RCS'er took a pic of me loading slate and a holder on a low roof. INstead of using scaffold all the time, I find it easier to use a hook ladder or two, and stack the slate on holders when doing valleys and other repair work. I even have a few 'L' shaped pieces I drop in the rungs of hook ladders to hold tools, slate, or whatever.

I've got a hoist like that myself. No matter how I tune it up it sweats like that too. My scissorbed leaks hydraulic fluid and my hoist leaks sweat. So far neither has ever broken down halfway up.

By black tip I assume you are referring to their weight rating. I don't mind a blue-tip 16' but 30' and up they are a little woozy. Black tip much better (once you get them in place, puff, puff)
