A Roof Inspector’s Perspective

Jessie Rudd shares his experiences working at Tremco's Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc. (WTI). 

Jessie Rudd is a roof inspector, and he loves his job. He gets to travel around the U.S., seeing many different sights and cultures. This is his favorite aspect of the job. Before working at WTI, he was an operations manager of a construction company, working with windows and doors. He has lots of experience working in the construction industry but was recruited as a roofer by Doug Schultz. 

Jessie speaks highly of the WTI apprenticeship program. The program includes 4,000 hours of comprehensive, on-the-job training and 392 hours of classroom instruction. Upon completing the program, apprentices earn an Apprentice Completion Certificate, and Journeyman 0480 roofer status. They can also earn 17 credit hours towards an Associate of Science degree. He says, “anyone who takes the course will learn from it.”

Jessie currently works out in the field inspecting roofs and loves being outdoors.  In the future, Jessie hopes to have a remote job with Tremco. He wants to be able to work from home on the computer.
