For roofing professionals looking to strengthen their networks and stay connected to regional industry issues, the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA) annual Expo offers an experience built around community as much as business.
In a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips®, ARCA Executive Director Laura Schweiker shared what makes the association's event stand out and why relationship-building remains its driving force.
ARCA's mission extends well beyond hosting an annual gathering. According to Laura, the organization works to strengthen Arizona's roofing industry through education, safety initiatives, resources and advocacy. "We've been serving the roofing industry for decades. Our mission is to strengthen the roofing industry throughout Arizona," Laura explained.
That commitment carries directly into Expo planning. Rather than creating the largest possible event, ARCA focuses on creating an environment where attendees can make meaningful connections. "I think the biggest thing is that it's the right sized event," Laura said. "We're big enough to see everyone you need to see, but small enough that you won't miss the conversations that really matter."
The emphasis on relationships reflects a broader reality within the roofing industry. Contractors often face challenges that others in their market have already encountered, making peer connections especially valuable. Laura noted that one of ARCA's greatest benefits is access to professionals who can offer guidance, share experiences and help point members in the right direction.
When planning the annual Expo, ARCA returns to a single guiding principle. In Laura’s words, "How do we provide value for everyone who attends?" That focus shapes everything from educational programming and networking opportunities to the event's trade show floor, which will feature more than 50 exhibitors.
Ultimately, ARCA hopes attendees leave with practical insights, new industry contacts and stronger professional relationships that continue long after the event concludes. If attendees leave with "a new idea or a new business relationship, then we've done our job," Laura said
As the event approaches, ARCA continues to position Expo as a place where contractors, suppliers and industry partners can connect in ways that support long-term success.
