Every month, we celebrate one of the incredible roofing companies in our R-Club community. For August 2026, that company is Division 7 Roofing!
Founded in 1979, Division 7 Roofing has grown to include two offices—one in Columbus, Ohio, and another in Cincinnati, Ohio. To learn more about the company and its journey, Megan Ellsworth welcomed Division 7 Roofing President John Kiesel to the August Roofer of the Month Podcast.
John describes Division 7 Roofing as a service company, but that does not mean its portfolio is limited to maintenance. He explained, “We are one hundred percent commercial and when I say we’re a service company, it’s because everything we do is in service for our clients.”
Division 7 Roofing’s capabilities include EPDM systems, multiple heat-welded systems, modified bitumen systems, conventional built-up roofing systems and metal roofing.
When asked to share an example of the company’s work, John pointed to a challenging project completed for a local school district:
A local school district was hit with major, two-inch hail that blew apart two of their roofs. There were still two weeks of school left, so it was our job to keep their students safe and dry, then move quickly to deploy crews to put the roofs on so they could be done before school opened again.
It was a tall order, but John and the Division 7 Roofing team were committed to meeting it. The team reorganized its schedule, deployed two crews and successfully completed both roofs before the school reopened.
“We make a strong service commitment to every one of our clients,” John said. “For this project, we were able to come together, reorganize our schedules and get two crews out there to make it happen and make sure everybody was good for the school year.”
This unwavering commitment to service—regardless of the project’s size or complexity—has helped Division 7 Roofing grow and thrive for decades.
