Expanding the training footprint

Expanding the training footprint

MuleHide is doubling down on contractor education and real-world roofing solutions.

MuleHide Products is expanding its national training network with the opening of a new facility in Englewood, Colorado, its fourth center aimed at advancing low-slope commercial roofing expertise across the West. The company, a long-standing name in roofing since 1906 and an active player in the commercial market since 1985, announced on the RoofersCoffeeShop® sound stage the Denver training center will host its inaugural session the week of October 20. Located at a new ABC Supply branch, the site will offer contractors easy access to both materials and hands-on learning.

“We've been talking about this for the last couple of years, and we're finally there,” said Derek Govan, regional director for MuleHide. “It’s going to be our fourth training center across the country.” The Denver location joins MuleHide’s existing centers, marking a strategic move to serve a growing demand for certified, skilled roofing professionals in the western U.S.

The company’s training programs are evolving to match the needs of today’s contractors. While MuleHide has long focused on TPO and EPDM single-ply systems, new sessions on modified bitumen and coatings are in development. “We're really excited about the mod bit training,” said Cameron Webb, territory manager for MuleHide. “We've developed a more structured program to help give our contractors and our distribution partner, ABC Supply, more knowledge and expertise.”

MuleHide is also addressing long-standing challenges in coatings. The company recently launched its SL Base product, part of its silicone system, designed to smooth out rough or aging surfaces like gravel BUR or cracked modified bitumen. The innovation helps create a uniform substrate for silicone coatings without resorting to higher-cost filler products. “It’s designed to fill those gaps and give us a smooth surface,” said Derek. “It’s part of that silicone system now.”

As demand grows for better-performing systems and more technically trained installers, MuleHide remains focused on being more than a material supplier.
