How to Get Your Roofing Company in the News

Indianapolis was hit by severe storms in April that left homeowners unsure of what to do during the pandemic. We have written before on RoofersCoffeeShop that Mother Nature doesn’t know that there is a pandemic causing most of the country to be sheltering in their homes. Storms are still going to happen.

It’s more important than ever for you to be getting out the message to your communities that roofing is an essential business and you are available for storm response – operating under Centers for Disease Control guidelines for social distancing and safe operations.

That was the case recently when Indiana was hit with storms and hail, leaving behind property damage. Ross Cochran, owner of Cochran Exteriors and an Owens Corning Platinum contractor spoke with 13 WTHR news advising that homeowners should not delay having their roofs and homes inspected if they suspect that they have sustained storm damage.

“We’re really recommending [that homeowners] have a good understanding of what’s going on up on the roof because what we don’t want to happen is in a week or two from now, for a leak to develop and then it becomes an interior issue,” explained Ross.

Ross shared with 13 WTHR that his company can perform a roof inspection with no contact and conduct meetings virtually to ensure a safe and healthy experience for all parties.

If you have not drafted a statement regarding storm response and emergency leak repairs, do it now so you are prepared for when the next storm hits. Visit the websites of your local media stations and gather the email addresses of reporters and editors. Include messaging about how you are able to operate and interact with customers on a no contact basis and that you are available for inspections and emergency response.

Get ahead of the game by drafting an email. Be sure to note that you are available for interviews if they would like to discuss in more detail. Put your email address in the TO field and drop in the editors’ email addresses in the BCC field so they can’t see that you are sending it to everyone. Save a draft of the email and when the next weather event strikes, simply open the draft and press send!
