Experts discuss Malco’s commitment to quality, the rise of metal roofing and the innovative tools shaping the industry. 

In this MetalTalk™, hosted by Karen Edwards, Malco Tools’ Senior Product Manager Shane Norman discussed the company's commitment to quality and its innovative approach to meeting the needs of trade professionals. As the metal roofing market continues to grow rapidly, tools designed specifically for this industry are becoming more important than ever. 

“Quality is our pride and joy at Malco,” Shane stated. He detailed Malco’s long-standing focus on designing tools that cater to the specific needs of roofing, siding and gutter professionals, with a special emphasis on durability and performance. “We don’t design tools for the DIY type person… Our tools are meant to last in heavy abuse type situations,” Shane added, demonstrating Malco’s dedication to crafting products that withstand the rigorous demands of professional use. 

One of the key topics Shane discussed was Malco’s latest product launch: the Metal Benders. These tools are designed to simplify and enhance the process of working with metal on construction sites, allowing for precise bending and forming of panels and trim pieces on-site. “What a bender allows our trade professionals to do is to make those panels or trim pieces on site, to any length that they need,” said Shane, stressing the benefits of having the right tool for creating clean, professional finishes. 

The conversation also touched on the evolving trends in the metal building industry, with Shane noting the increasing popularity of metal roofing, which now comprises 17% of all roof installations, according to industry data. He pointed out that the growth is driven by the variety of metal options available, which have become more aesthetically pleasing and versatile, appealing to both residential and commercial markets.

Shane spoke about the company’s focus on maintaining high standards through in-house engineering and quality assurance processes, ensuring every tool bearing the Malco name is built to last.
