SPRI, the association representing sheet membrane and component suppliers to the commercial roofing industry, announced that BSR/SPRI/FM 4435/ES-1 “Test Standard for Edge Systems Used with Low Slope Roofing Systems” is being revised and will be re-canvassed for approval as an American National Standard.
This standard provides the basic requirements only for resistance testing for roof edge systems under simulated wind load conditions. This standard is intended for use by those that design, specify, manufacture and test roofing materials and roof edge systems used in the roofing industry. This standard applies to low slope roof systems, with low slope defined here as roofs having a slope ≤ 9.5 degrees (2:12). The test methods found in this document address copings and roof edge systems
The ES-1 Standard was first approved as an ANSI standard in 2017. This standard is now undergoing its regular review as required by SPRI’s ANSI procedures.
Those wishing to participate in the canvass process may contact SPRI at info@spri.org.
