When I saw this article in the Queen Creek Independent written by Justin Loflin, owner of Efficient Roofing in Apache Junction, Arizona, I thought that this was a great idea and wanted to share it with the rest of our contractors on RoofersCoffeeShop.
Wanting to know the inspiration behind it I called Efficient Roofing to see if I could speak to Justin. He was out in the field, but I was directed to Stephanie Yoda, service coordinator at the company, who was the brains behind the article and who also handles much of the company’s marketing efforts.
“We used to do a lot of recruiting at high school job fairs,” explained Stephanie. “But when schools were closed down, we couldn’t do that anymore, so I thought of the newspaper.”

Realizing that many people have also lost their jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stephanie thought that this could be an opportunity to recruit some talented workers to their team. “We want people to know that roofing is a lifelong career. Our team stays with us a long time,” she said. “One of our team members has been here for seven years and he is only 25.”
In the article Justin writes, “Every day is different in the roofing industry --- a roofer’s day can consist of repairs, maintenance or re-roofing an entire roof.” He explains that college degrees are not required, and roofing can be considered a lifelong career opportunity that provides a good income as well as opportunities for growth within the company.
The article also shares what a typical day is like – starting early to beat the heat and working with individuals who are motivated every day to deliver outstanding customer service to businesses and homeowners. Read the full article here.
