5 reasons investing in metal is worth it

A metal roof can cost more up front, but there are many advantages to metal in the long-term.  

If your customer is in need of a new roof and they don't know what type of roofing they want yet, talk to them about metal. While asphalt shingles have been the most accessible and available material for years, many people are choosing metal roofing for its numerous benefits varying from lifespan to easier maintenance. While metal roofing usually comes with a higher upfront cost, it’s important to let your customers know that the investment is worth it in the long run. While an asphalt shingle roof may be the least expensive at first glance (on average a 1,600-square-foot simple gable, low-pitch roof costs about $9,000), a metal one (typically ranging from $10,375 to $14,075) will end up saving homeowners in the long run. Metal roofs last a lifetime (50 years plus), so they save on the installation and removal of several roofs for the cost of one. Asphalt shingles need to be replaced approximately every 25 years, so spending more initially on metal just makes sense from an investment standpoint.

Metal saves homeowners' money on energy bills by keeping homes cooler during sweltering months. They could save up to 25% on cooling costs with metal versus asphalt shingles. Why such a drastic amount? The use of ‘cool colors’ help our metal roofing reflect infrared light to minimize heat buildup. This helps homeowners save on cooling costs during hot months.
