Defeat Rooftop Obstacles With Garrdal!

In a recent episode of the Roofing Road Trips podcast, host, Heidi J. Ellsworth, sat down to talk with owner and founder of Garrdal, Dennis Vowles, to discuss his company and the incredible work they are putting into changing the way contractors tackle rooftop hurdles.  

Dennis created Garrdal after years of frustration as a general contractor trying to retrofit pipe flashings on roofs. No matter how hard he searched, there were few solutions that made the job any less of a hassle. He decided to make his own solution, Garrdal, which is now being sold across 1,300 dealers across the nation and may soon be sold in Canada.  

He explained the various rooftop hurdles roofers can experience, “On a shingle roof, there are standard pipe flashings that just get pushed over a plumbing vent, or other pipes, but oftentimes you'll have wires in the way or some kind of a concentric pipe hood, or who knows what. Roofers are always finding ways to use it. You can't push a pipe flashing over top of those pipes.” Enter Garrdal. “[Garrdal] is designed to go around those obstacles rather than over them. So, it's two parts that nest together, and there's seven inches of overlap. The brand names of the materials are copaline and santoprene, so they will last decades longer than any shingle roof. They're designed to be outside, extreme cold, extreme heat doesn't bother them. And this will go around those obstacles, and you don't have to worry about callbacks,” Dennis explained. 

Dennis and his team put a lot of research into finding the best materials for the product to ensure it would last in various intense climates and weather conditions. With the modern advancements made to plastics, they found the perfect mix of copaline and santoprene plastics to create a product that lasts. Designed to withstand the most extreme of climates and easy to install, the Garrdal is perfect for any project.
