Thirty-years ago, contractors didn’t even have a computer on their desks, something that seems almost unimaginable in today’s digital age. Now, technology is going even further, giving contractors more control over their businesses. But there is a learning curve to finding the right programs and tools for each individual business. That’s where programs like Owens Corning’s Tech Stack come in. In a special, multi-segment CoffeeCast, Heidi J. Ellsworth talks about this with Jon Gardner and Dave Banas.
Jon has worked with Owens Corning for around 12 years now and held a variety of roles at the company. He explained what he’s worked on recently, saying, “For the last five years I've been working on helping the contractor team scale and solve problem and I head up our learning and development platform.” This means he works with the Owens Corning University which is an online learning platform for contractors and helps forge the partnerships that make both that education opportunity and the Tech Stack program possible.
Dave has been at Owens Corning for four years now and has a background in digital marketing, eCommerce and technology implementation. This set him up to easily transition into his role, which he explained, “Part of my role here is to help contractors understand technology that's available in their marketplace and evaluate the tech that's out there.”
This duo, along with Heidi, will spend this series talking to members of the Tech Stack program to learn how technology can help contractors, from making their processes more efficient to helping them stand out in a competitive market. The interviews will feature representatives from Art Unlimited, Podium, Hover, CompanyCam, Ingage, Leap and JobNimbus.
