As a roofing contractor, we are the eyes and ears for the roofs of most of our customers. They may seldom, or more likely, never actually step foot on their roof. Instead, they must rely on the photos, documentation, and the reporting their roofing contractor provides to know how well their roof is performing. With that in mind, regular roof inspections and cleaning are good business practices. In most areas of the United States, fall brings changes such as storms, winds, and cooler temperatures. These changes can put leaves, limbs, and other debris on the roof. This can cause gutters, drains, and collector boxes to stop draining properly, leaving water standing on the roof or backing up behind walls. Water also equals weight, which can lead to dangerous situations on the roof for your employees, or for your customers and products inside their building. This makes fall a great time to inspect and clean the roofs for your customer.
Regular cleanings and maintenance are known to keep and even extend the life of a roof, and many manufacturers actually require this as part of their warranty program. Rackley is a customer-focused organization, so it is our job to look out for the best interest of our clients. This means extending the life of their roof when possible, even when it means holding off on that reroof for a few more years. Performing routine inspections allows us to identify potential or developing issues on the roof before the more costly damage is done and allows us to save the client money by offering repairs instead of that pesky, expensive reroof.
Building owners and managers appreciate when their roofing contractor has a proactive mindset. Not only does this help the client receive fewer leak calls from their tenants, it also helps them set accurate budgets for their buildings. If we can perform regular inspections and maintenance, those surprise roof leak bills will be less, or even non-existent. Most importantly, it builds trust with your client, allowing the business relationship to last for years to come, and when it is time for that reroof, you are their trusted partner.
