Homes by Avi is raising the roof with launch of hail and wind-resilient housing in Alberta

The new roofing selected by Homes by Avi will exclusively be provided by leading Canadian roofing manufacturer BP Canada.

Calgary-based Homes by Avi is strengthening the resilience of new homes across Alberta by becoming the first large-volume homebuilder in the province to install the industry’s highest impact-resistant roofing on all its new single-family homes. Called UL Class 4, the roofing is proven to withstand severe weather events, including intense hailstorms and strong winds.

The decision comes as Alberta continues to face significant and recurring hail damage. According to the Insurance Bureau of Canada, the province has experienced at least one major hailstorm every year for the past two decades, resulting in more than $11 billion in insured damage. Hailstorms in the past five years alone have accounted for $6 billion of that total.

The new roofing selected by Homes by Avi will exclusively be provided by leading Canadian roofing manufacturer BP Canada. As of August 1, BP Canada’s ultra-strong Vangard shingles will be used for all Homes by Avi single-family home construction projects, providing Alberta homeowners with enhanced protection against hail and wind-related roof damage and boosting the long-term performance of their shingles.
