In this upcoming episode of Read, Listen, Watch, we’ll hear from industry experts about how to best navigate subcontractor relationships. 

Nearly every roofing contractor utilizes subcontractors for their roofing jobs. But the subcontracting process is not an easy one and navigating the risks of these relationships can be tricky. To help roofers mitigate this process, we’ll be discussing the legal side of subcrews in our upcoming episode of Read, Listen, Watch on Wednesday, April 24 at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET.  

In this webinar, we’ll be joined by industry experts Trent Cotney, partner at Adams and Reese, and Justin Bedwell, owner of Camouflage Roofing & Construction, LLC. Throughout the webinar, they will discuss the inherent risks and challenges that come with working with subcontractors. They’ll talk about how you can minimize any potential legal liability that comes from working with subcrews while still maximizing your profits. 

Trent Cotney has over two decades of legal experience in the roofing and construction industry. He specializes in defending roofers who are facing OSHA citations, construction defect claims, bid protests and more. Trent also spends countless hours reviewing and drafting hundreds of contracts for roofing businesses.  

Justin Bedwell is not only the owner of Oklahoma-based Camouflage Roofing & Construction, but he is also an Army veteran. Justin had previously worked in roofing as a teenager. After honorably departing the Army in 2014, he began working in the roofing industry again, covering all grounds including installing roofs, writing estimates and managing projects. Today, he services the Oklahoma area and works with subcontractors daily. 

Together, Trent and Justin will provide valuable insight on the legal intricacies of working with subcrews. They’ll discuss best practices for working with subcontractors and help you master the entire process.
