In a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Karen Edwards sat down with Todd Gluski, the director of marketing and customer operations at OX Engineered Products, which is a part of the Amrize family of companies. Todd opened the conversation with a short explanation of who OX is, sharing, “What makes us unique is that we're a manufacturer of high performance, eco-friendly engineered products that are used in both residential and commercial applications. What we do is we focus on creating multifunctional innovative products for use in the building.”
The result of this focus? Products that have defined the industry. Todd explained, “Amrize purchased the company in 2018, but parts of the company have been around for over 50 years. For example, our ThermoPLY structural sheathing is over 50 years old and has been used on over 6 million homes.” What has kept ThermoPLY so popular for so long? Unique engineering and design. The OX team not only made ThermoPLY as a lightweight alternative to OSB that acts as a water and air barrier, but they also developed it to be a more price-stable and affordable product so more contractors in the field could utilize it.
On the note of ensuring their products serve contractors in the field, OX has a robust installer support system. Todd explained, “We strive as a company to provide installation training and instruction at every level because we know our products need to be installed correctly for them to perform at their best.” Their support includes online resources like installation videos and instructions, and a call center that connects contractors directly to experts. At the end of the day, OX is an incredible, industry-leading manufacturer, but more than that, they are a powerful partner for contractors.
