On a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Dan Mihai, Chief Technology Officer, and Dennis Keglovits, Chief Customer Officer, of Jobba. Jobba is a CRM software that roofers use to grow their business. Their mission is to “provide roofing contractors with state-of-the-art tools and solutions that help their business excel in the world of roofing and exterior construction.” Dan and Dennis went on the podcast to discuss how Jobba protects their customer’s data.
When designing Jobba, Dan had the mindset that he wanted customers to control their own data. Dan shared, “We have a philosophy in which we put the customer in charge. So not only do you own your own data, but you can also control who gets access to what and who gets to do what to every data element that you store and you capture.”
Knowing who and what has access to your data is very important for keeping your company secure. “Sometimes people do not realize that they are ‘oversharing’ their data. Sometimes they don’t know the extent of the data they even have.” Dennis told the host, “I don't even think the people that use the data realize how much information they have and how much they use it and where they use it... so how you classify information is critical.”
Jobba also has a role management function that controls data sharing on a need-to-know basis” “We have rules for more than 1,000 data elements, so we go very granular, in which you can define who gets to see a data element,” says Dan. “Who gets to modify a data element, who gets to print the information that's embodied in a data element, who gets to delete that data element and who gets to act upon it.”
In addition to all of this, Jobba has proprietary security coding to prevent thieves from stealing your company’s valuable information. In a digital world, there are digital criminals- and Jobba is taking the steps necessary to prevent those criminals from accessing your data.
